For the December EBGTZ linkage and retention working group meeting, we will have a special event to recognize World AIDS Day and the importance of empowering youth in getting to zero new HIV transmissions.

We aim to create a space where youth, service providers, public health and community advocates can listen, discuss and better understand what young people need to engage in HIV/STD prevention and care services and develop creative, collaborative strategies that we can implement together.

We will have a World AIDS Day keynote talk with Naina Khanna, youth panel, discussion, breakfast, continuing education credits, raffles, a fun selfie station and swag, prizes, lunch at 12:30 pm and the Alameda County HIV Annual Awards ceremony at 1 pm.  

Here’s what you can expect (event agenda):

9-9:30 am: sign-in, breakfast, networking, selfie station

9:30-9:35: Welcome, logistics, raffle/worksheet/selfie station instructions, keynote introduction
9:35-10:15: Keynote with Naina Khanna, Executive Director of the Positive Women’s Network
10:15-10:20: Raffle #1

10:20-11:15: Youth panel
11:15-11:45: Q&A and discussion with youth service provider-leaders
11:45-11:50: Raffle #2

11:50-12:20: Small group discussions
12:20-12:30: highlights, wrap up, next steps, plan for next meeting (Thurs, April 23 or 30, 2020)
12:30: Enter our big raffle drawing! Enter via the evaluation link to win one of three $50 gift cards!

12:30-1:00 pm: lunch, selfie station, resource tables
12:50 pm: Big raffle winners announced

1:00-2:00 pm: ACPHD World AIDS Day awards; food and selfie station will be outside the room
2:00 pm: wrap-up, hang-out/networking time, clean up
