We welcome:
People who are unhoused and who are uninsured; undocumented; LGBTQ community, people of trans experience, people living with HIV, persons previously incarcerated and affected by the war on drugs
Same-day access and availability:
Open access same-day drop-ins are available (once the shelter in place is lifted) Monday through Friday. During Shelter in Place, services will be provided remotely and drop-ins will take place Monday through Friday via Zoom.
Core services:
HIV testing, PrEP enrollment, PEP referrals, HIV treatment and care navigation, STD testing and treatment referrals, non-medical case management, medical transportation for HIV+ clients, mental health therapy and substance use services. Some services have been modified and/or suspended due to COVID-19.
Additional services on-site:
Mental health services, nutrition, educational group meetings.
Additional services off-site:
Individual and group interventions available via Zoom and by phone.

Hours

During Shelter in Place, the physical office will be closed, but services will be provided remotely Monday through Friday 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM. Medical transportation services are provided Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, by appointment.

We welcome:
Low income Alameda County residents who are living with HIV and are seeking assistance in locating affordable housing or other support service resources, including linkage to clinic services. Callers from outside Alameda County are also welcome to call AHIP if they are seeking local housing or services.
Same-day access and availability:
Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 to 5:00. Face-to-face meetings with clients at clinics or other locations can be scheduled directly by clients, or by arrangement with medical case managers, social workers or peer advocates.
Core services:
AHIP staff conducts intake interviews, responds to questions, identifies housing and service needs, provides applications for subsidized housing, assists with housing search activities including help with completing housing applications, provides advocacy services, offers guidance in navigating homelessness systems, and consults with clinic staff regarding the housing search and housing retention needs of their clients. AHIP staff also assists clients in preparing applications for financial assistance with move-in costs, unpaid rent and unpaid utility bills.
