The UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Pediatric HIV/AIDS Program (PHAP) welcomes infants, children, and young adults with known or suspected HIV infection, AIDS or AIDS-related symptoms. We also provide prenatal counseling and planning for pregnant people living with HIV.

Services

Core Services

We offer specialized, multidisciplinary care for Infants, children, and young adults living with HIV. Our core services include:

  • Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment for infants, children and young adults with known or suspected HIV infection, AIDS or AIDS-related symptoms
  • Prenatal counseling and planning for pregnant people living with HIV
  • Infant feeding support and counseling
  • Newborn HIV testing and monitoring
  • Transition support for young adults moving to adult care providers

We offer medical case management to help patients stick to their treatment plans, find benefits, and get the care they need. We also have mental health services for support and referrals.

Access Information

Paid parking is available in a garage, and metered street parking is also an option. A free BART shuttle runs between the main hospital and the MacArthur BART station on weekdays. When the shuttle is not operating, AC Transit bus line #18 can be used. Nighttime security escorts are available by calling (510) 428-3600
