East Bay Getting to Zero

Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) Office of HIV Prevention is now offering self-testing kits for HIV, STIs, and HCV.

To be eligible to order a kit, you must:

  • be 18 or older
  • live in Alameda County
  • have not tested for HIV in 12 months or longer

People who are eligible and want to order kits please visit www.takemehome.org and create a client portal. Kits that can be ordered include:

  • HIV oral-fluid rapid tests (results available in 20 minutes)
  • HIV dried-blood spot*
  • Multi-site kits for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia*
  • Syphilis dried-blood spot*
  • HCV dried-blood spot*

*These are lab-based tests. Clients are sent a kit to collect samples, which they then mail back to the lab. Results are available within one-to-two weeks in their client portal. The lab will not process HIV, syphilis, or HCV tests for clients that report a previous diagnosis.
