The Yvette A. Flunder Foundation cordially invites you to join us for the kickoff of our FOOD AND WELLNESS PROGRAM for older people living with HIV.  We plan to showcase EBGTZ’s virtual event at our lunch for anyone who would like to both, attend EBGTZ’s virtual World AIDS Day Event and attend our Kick off of the Food and Wellness Program.

Over the pass 2+ years of COVID 19, many older folks living with HIV have found themselves isolated, separated and alone.  Program Director Gloria Crowell and her energetic staff are initiating strategies to address these issues with a program to be housed on the campus of the City of Refuge UCC, 8400 Enterprise Way, Oakland, CA.

As many of you know, older people living with HIV who are food insecure often forego critical medical care and are less likely to be virally suppressed.  Research has demonstrated relatively elevated levels of food insecurity among older people living with HIV, underscoring the need to implement targeted food assistance strategies for this group.  This program will also provide a space for these individuals to connect with others and have meaningful discussions about how HIV affects their lives.

Please SAVE-THE-DATE and plan to join us for the GRAND OPENING of this timely program!  We look forward to seeing you!

We will be streaming East Bay Getting to Zero’s World AIDS Day 2022 Virtual Event: We All Keep Us Safe at 12 PM – 1:30 PM (PST).
