Facente Consulting is partnering with the California Department of Public Health Office of AIDS and STD Control Branch to develop the 2022-2026 Statewide Integrated HIV, HCV, and STI Strategic Plan. (This plan will serve as the response to HRSA/CDC’s Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan Guidance.) Throughout 2021, a high-level version of this plan was developed with input from a workgroup composed of diverse voices from CDPH staff, key stakeholders, and people with lived experience. The plan (which can be viewed here) provides an overview of 30 key strategies that CDPH is committing to undertaking to address HIV, HCV, and STIs in our state from 2022-2026, as part of a framework recognizing the importance of social determinants of health in people’s health and wellness.
In 2022, we will be working to develop the action steps and blueprint for implementation for these high-level strategies. From March through June, we will be hosting multiple opportunities for community engagement with as many diverse groups and stakeholders as possible, including a statewide town hall, disseminating surveys, and conducting regional virtual and in-person listening sessions throughout California.
The first event will be a Statewide Town Hall, virtually held on March 18, 2022 from noon to 2pm PST. During this event, people will have a chance to:
- Hear about the Statewide Strategic Plan: approach, process, strategies, and timeline
· Learn about initiatives that are already being implemented at the state level, toward reaching these goals
· Receive information on statewide structural changes, with presenters from other collaborating state departments (like behavioral health, housing, and Medi-Cal)
· Engage and provide your thoughts and suggestions on how to move forward from here!
